- Look at the Maui Costco the day before the Hurricanes were headed our way. Most all of Hawaii was spared, thank goodness (Sans Puna). Now I bet no one has to go grocery shopping this month ! I am pretty sure Maui maintains it's Costco "super" status as the busiest Costco in the USA.
COSTCOWatch: Is everyone stocking up their emergency supply kits? I just want to get on my soap box for a minute - Even if this storm (by a stroke of extreme luck) fizzles - this is a great exercise in preparedness. Let's hope, that's all it is. Here's a pat on the back for everyone that now has a stocked emergency kit! We're in the middle of hurricane season and "it's not IF, but WHEN" - the National Weather Service expects an event to impact the islands about once every 15 years. Our state has been fortunate in the last few decades, but there is a good chance you will experience a major event in your lifetime so it's always best to be prepared just in case. Good job everyone :) Photo: Crystal Ault Papritz "Costco at opening today"
